Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang claims that he and his Arsenal team-mates “believe” the club can win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners finished in eighth position last campaign, a huge 43 points off champions Liverpool and ten points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Mikel Arteta’s men have since won the FA Cup and the Community Shield, while they have also started this season well with two wins out of two in the Premier League.
They face Liverpool on Monday night with another victory taking the Gunners level with Leicester and Everton at the Premier League summit.
When asked by Canal+ whether Arsenal can win the Premier League title this season, Aubameyang replied: “It would be impressive.
“Our aim is to be a nuisance for Liverpool (tonight) and all season. We believe we can [win the title].”
Meanwhile, Aubameyang has also said that he turned down “several offers” to sign a new contract with Arsenal.
“We spoke a fair amount during the lockdown and he convinced me, notably in terms of the project.
“And of course, secondly, is the love that I receive from the fans and people at the club.
“Since I have been here, I have been treated like one of their own and – as I am one of their own – I am going to stay here. It is as simple as that.”
