He was in Georgia filming for his new movie, he claimed, and several members of the cast and crew had witnessed him finding out the news on his phone.
“This is the God’s honest truth of how I found out about the ending of the engagement and have people from my film who saw the whole thing go down and helped me get back into character to continue my job,” Max wrote in a second statement on Instagram after People magazine reported he had, in fact, known about the breakup previously.
“Please end this narrative and focus on other more important issues in the world,” he added. “I love and forgive everyone involved.”
“I’m here in real time with y’all,” he said. “I love Demetria and just want her to be healthy and safe.”
He then seemed to address Demi directly, writing: “If you’re reading this… I love you always… unconditionally… no matter what.”
“She inspires me every day and is an INCREDIBLE human being,” Max wrote alongside one screenshot. “I know it’s not her writing these stories. It’s a machine. I love her unconditionally.”
According to reports from E! News, though, Demi is “embarrassed” by Max’s behaviour following their breakup and is “completely done” with the relationship.
