Home Home Page Promos Gossip: Man Utd’s ‘generous’ final Sancho bid, Arsenal eye Chelsea star

With 12 days left in the transfer window, it is being reported that Ed Woodward has prepared a best and final offer to present to Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.

The Mirror claims Manchester United will submit a bid which could net Dortmund £90million. The Red Devils are ready to cough up £75million up front for the 20-year-old and another £15million in add-ons.

Dortmund have been adamant that Sancho will only leave for £108million but they will apparently be told by Woodward that ‘there will be no negotiating over the fee or structure of the deal’ because United feel their offer is ‘generous’ in current climate.

The story also says that Woodward ‘is convinced he can avoid drawn-out talks’ with an ‘incisive’ bid.

If the papers are to be believed, Woodward has already driven down Porto’s asking price for Alex Telles.

Earlier in the week it was claimed that the Portuguese giants were asking for around £36million for the left-back but United were willing only to pay around £23million since the 27-year-old is a year from being a free agent.

The Guardian says Porto have indeed lowered their valuation to around £18.3million – but Woodward won’t pay that. United are now said to want a deal for £12million and they believe Porto will cave as the deadline approaches.

With Arsenal’s pursuits of Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey seemingly leading nowhere, the Gunners are reportedly keen to run up what appears to be another blind alley as they look to strengthen the centre of their midfield.

Sky Sports says Arsenal are keen on Jorginho, though convincing Chelsea to do a deal may be similarly as tricky as the negotiations they have held with Lyon and Atletico Madrid.

Jorginho has started both of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far this season as Frank Lampard’s captain. Mikel Arteta was on the Manchester City staff when Pep Guardiola thought he had landed the Italy midfielder in 2018 but Chelsea pipped City at the post, paying Napoli around £50million.

Given Jorginho’s status in Lampard’s squad, the chances of Arsenal finding common ground with Chelsea over a fee seem slim.

Sky Sports says Atletico are talking to Arsenal over a possible deal for Lucas Torreira, which could help unlock the Partey deadlock.

Atletico want to take Torreira on loan but Arsenal would prefer to sell the Uruguay midfielder outright, or at least include an obligation for the Spaniards to buy in any initial loan deal.

Atletico’s interest is complicated somewhat by Torino’s willingness to pay for Torreira, while Fiorentina are also sniffing.

With little headway made into deals for Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey, Arsenal are looking at alternatives.

It’s been a glum week for Man Utd fans after their dire start to the Premier League season. But there are reasons for optimism…

The Mailbox is another depressing read for Man Utd supporters. Also: fans of Football League clubs must adapt – or else.

Arsenal need to raise funds to land both Aouar and Partey; Torreira looks to be on his way.

United have so far signed Donny van de Beek in the transfer window. There’s not long left…

Spurs are close to landing Milan Skriniar while Liverpool are still said to be sniffing around Kalidou Koulibaly…

Liverpool v Arsenal is the real cracker. But first, can Brighton plunge Man United into crisis?

It’s been a glum week for Man Utd fans after their dire start to the Premier League season. But there are reasons for optimism…

Dele Alli to PSG seems a ridiculous notion. But what if it’s actually… good?

None of these players have even made a Premier League bench this season. Well, almost none.

Dele Alli could be the latest to be given the cold shoulder – these five know how it feels…
