The “Gorilla Glue Girl” Tessica Brown saga is finally over – and Michael Obeng, the plastic surgeon who rescued the Louisiana woman from her own hardened hair, is from here in Southern California
“It’s Over Over Over,” Brown said in a TMZ video as she scratched her scalp in relief after the procedure, “I need to get my hair done,” she added ahead of Valentine’s Day,
It’s a happy ending for the viral story, which might sound amusing at first, but after scratching the surface turned out to be an absolute horror show
About a month ago, Brown said, her Göt 2b glued hairspray ran out – and she reached for Gorilla Glue Spray Adhesive instead – she had essentially solid hair that was impervious to shampoo, like she said in TikTok, which was released in February Video explained 3 “Bad, Bad, Bad Idea,” she said, “My hair won’t move”
The first video went viral, big time Brown told TMZ that she posted her story on social media because her hair-related headache was getting worse, the tingling feeling got worse and she couldn’t think of any possible solutions
After trying out suggestions from the crowd – rubbing alcohol, conditioner, coconut oil, tea tree oil, wrapping everything in plastic overnight – Brown went to a local emergency room, but that didn’t help either. Your extreme discomfort is evident in video clips that she posted on the go
Even Chance the Rapper commented on the not-so-fun aspect of it all, saying he was glad people were backing Brown through their fight, “The second time I saw the video, it was hard to laugh because I noticed that Shorty really didn’t know that she had one of the strongest adhesives in the world put into her [hair] I hope she’s recovering well, ”he tweeted on Saturday
Even Gorilla Glue was desperate, and tweeted on Monday: “We are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced with our spray adhesive on her hair. We’re excited to see that in her latest video Miss Brown received medical attention from her local medical facility and wish her all the best. ”
Enter Obeng, a plastic surgeon who has a private practice in Beverly Hills. After testing a few things and figuring out what was most likely to undo the damage, he offered to be aged 12Perform $ 500 procedure for free with TMZ recording the results
By Thursday, TMZ reported, Brown was healthy again – albeit with much less hair because her long ponytail had been cut off days earlier. But what remained was mobile again, which was a big step up
“Now I wish I had a tissue,” she said in the operating room video as she ran her manicured fingers through her short hair. In the meantime, a Go Fund Me promotion has more than 21Raised $ 000 on her medical bills
Brown was lightly anesthetized while Obeng was performing the four-hour procedure. Your full recovery time will be two to three months, he said
Obeng told TMZ that his cure included medicinal glue removers, aloe vera, olive oil, and a dash of acetone “The goal is to be able to dissolve the glue and not burn your scalp,” he told CBS2
