COVID-19 has been in Canada for over a year it is simply unacceptable that during this time public health officials have not matured their response beyond calling for blunt locks for all residents

We are blessed to live in a country full of incredibly talented and educated people in an age of big data and analytics where we should be able to make targeted and informed decisions about the challenges we face / p>

But here we are provincial politicians, and health officials across the country prepare for another round of tighter restrictions and possible lockdowns as cases slowly increase after a drastic fall in February

We learned a lot about COVID-19, e.g. B. how to treat it and who is most vulnerable The truth is that the vast majority of people who have died from COVID are elderly people who have struggled with multiple underlying diseases

Your life is important and we should do everything we can to protect and care for them But all of this news telling teenagers that they are killing grandma and grandpa by hanging out with their friends is junk science that isn’t Backed by the Evidence It’s also a cruel mind game

It’s true that opinion polls across Canada show that many people really love their locks, but that’s because politicians and health officials have cornered them and only give them information that encourages them to take that view

Because of this, there are extremely low risk people who are afraid to go to places like the grocery store, where the data shows there has been virtually no transmission

If people feel that it is unsafe to leave their homes, that is their right. Nobody is forcing them to go out That would be wrong. Forcing people to stay home is also wrong on several levels. p>

Governments should spend their time solving the real problems, like protecting the elderly and supporting the medical system
