Max Clifford boasted on unheard tapes that he would refer to himself as a “ringmaster” while attending celebrity orgies, his biographer claimed

In a new documentary titled Max Clifford: The Fall of a Tabloid King, biographer Angela Levin revealed that the embarrassed publicist often boasted of having orgies with young women and that he was never faithful to his wife

Ms. Levin gave documentary filmmakers 100 hours previously unheard interviews with Clifford, which she recorded for his 2004 biography Read All About It, which hit the bestseller list a year later when it was released

According to the journalist, the publicist on the tapes said he had been unfaithful to his wife Elizabeth, who he was married to for 36 years, before she died of lung cancer

“I had business, I was greedy, it was wonderful Liz was my wife, the rest was for entertainment,” Clifford explained, according to The Sun.

“It was my party, my circus, so I was the ringmaster. We were all in this toy store and could play with any toy

“There would be four or five stars and five or six girls doing all sorts of things and I checked it out”

The celebrity PR, whose former clients were Simon Cowell and OJ Simpson, can also be heard in the interviews, in which he said the women he was familiar with were “old enough to know what they did “

Ms. Levin expressed shock when Clifford was arrested, saying she had no idea he was targeting underage girls

The Channel 4 documentary will also hear from the perpetrator’s victims for the first time and learn what it took to come forward

He was tried in March 2014 and found guilty of eight indecent assaults on four girls and women between the ages of 15 and 19

He was sentenced to eight years in prison and died of a heart attack in 2017 when he was still an inmate

The documentary Max Clifford: The Fall of a Tabloid King will be released on Jan. March at 9 p.m. on channel 4
