The Hon Josh Frydenberg, Federal Treasurer, has opened Australia’s one-stop shop for consumers looking to support Australian businesses

All products have a “check mark” to indicate that they are made and owned in Australia

Buy Aussies Now is Australia’s largest online marketplace supporting locally owned businesses in nine categories: Women, Men, Children and Babies, Household and Lifestyle, Beauty and Health, Food and Beverage, Toys and Games, Pets and gifts

After a soft launch during the post-Christmas sales, the marketplace already has 15000 products, since the current 6500 registered companies begin to activate their “businesses” on Buy Aussie Now

Originally launched as an Instagram page in March 2020, Buy Aussie Now’s goal was to respond to the pressure that Australian small businesses faced following the bushfires and pandemic

The company raised 850 in its first start-up phase$ 000 to develop the online store and is now in the market for its significant Phase 2 increase

Chris White, CEO of Buy Aussie Now, looks forward to working with hundreds of thousands of Australian companies over the next few years

He said, “2020 taught us all that it is important for each of us to always support our friends, family and local communities”

“We Can Really Make a difference in every conscious purchasing decision we make. So many Australians want to support Australian businesses but run out of space Buy Aussie Now is the answer”

“In fact, Buy Aussie Now is made by Aussie and owned by Amazon But the big difference is that profits, and especially jobs, stay here in Australia. We are all very proud of this and an important part of our ongoing legacy”

“The Australian government’s support during the pandemic, which continues to this day, even with state and territory governments closing borders and imposing lockdowns, has helped many businesses survive”

“We are delighted that Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has officially opened Buy Aussie Now”

According to Roy Morgan, nine out of ten Australians prefer Australian-made and owned shopping, but until now there has been no destination to shop locally

To mark the official opening, Buy Aussie Now released a “Tick of Approval” that buyers can use to identify 100 percent Australian owned companies and products that are 100 percent Australian made

Once a company has been approved as a “seller” on Buy Aussie Now, they can use the check mark on their websites, marketing, social media, and products for free

“Buying Aussie Now” Tick of Approval “is free for all Australian businesses once they are approved to sell. Every penny counts for small businesses as many are in survival mode This is an easy way to get additional sales and marketing support ”

“We know that the free Buy Aussie Now tick will be short for native quality, supporting local families and communities, and knowing that the profits from all sales stay here in Australia”

The tick of approval will be officially available in the next ten to twelve weeks as the Melbourne Chocolate Ministry will be the first to receive it at launch on Friday
