He’s king, he’s queen, and now Jack Vidgen is a celebrity! After weeks of intense speculation, the first episode of the seventh season of “I’m a Celebrity” is coming out Get Me Out of Here! “Which will air tonight confirming the appearances of many famous Australian faces in the jungle, including Australia’s Decides 2020 star Jack Vidgen

A teaser leading up to the show hinted at Jack’s appearance and said, “He’s been singing on the world stage, but now he’s going to sing for his dinner!” Jack Vidgen won the fifth season of “Australia’s Got Talent” in 2011 and was a semi-finalist in the eighth season of “The Voice Australia” Most recently he took eighth place in Australia Decides 2020 with his song “I Am King, I Am Queen”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the show was filmed in the Australian outback over four weeks from November to December 2020 instead of its usual location in South Africa. It is also the first season of the Australian show to be pre-recorded A grand live final will air later this month

In the Australian bush with 60 species of deadly snakes, 100 species of deadly spiders, leeches, ticks and all kinds of creepy crawlies, celebrities are sure to face their fears! For someone who has admitted that they are not a fan of snakes, spiders, or camping and “doesn’t really like the outdoors”, Jack faces a challenge! He posted on social media tonight, describing the show as “one of the craziest experiences” of his life

Of course Jack Vidgen is not the first Aussie with Eurovision or Australia He decides there are connections in the jungle. Both the current hosts of “Australia Decides” and Australian Eurovision commentators Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst attended “I’m A Celebrity” Joel finished fifth on the show’s first season in 2015 and Myf finished sixth last season

Fellow Australia chooses 2020 candidate, Casey Donovan, won the third season of I Am a Celebrity in 2017 and became the first Australian Queen of the Jungle Eurovision 2016 Australian jury member Shannon Noll finished second the following year

It was announced on today’s show that this year the celebrity campers will be split into three teams, with Jack, Paulini Curuenavuli (who finished fourth in the first season of ‘Australian Idol’ in 2003) and Jess Eva (from ‘ The Block ‘Fame) all selected to lead one of the three teams Jack is captain of the green team, Jess is in charge of the red team and Paulini is in charge of the blue team

In a move that made Arilena Ara shiver in her boots, the crew captains were selected to jump out of a helicopter and fall 14,000 feet from the sky into a lake! Jack valiantly took first place despite being a “nervous flier”

After his daring leap, he even jumped in to help Paulini out of the water after she dared the plunge as she couldn’t swim How heroic!

The three team captains were then asked to choose their teammates from a group of three celebrities based solely on descriptions and silhouettes, with Jack choosing a “Soapie Songbird” as his teammate Jack’s teammate later became an actress, singer and presenter Toni Pearen exposed

The team captains were brought to the campsite for the first time, where they were greeted with their first challenge – to start the campfire! When the group struggled with the task, Jack decided to lighten the mood by serenading the other captains, and Paulini even buckled on her 2012 single “Fireman”!

Comedian Mel Buttle won the King Miguel’s Kitchen Challenge by narrowly beating the green team and winning a teammate’s first choice for the red team – a “ballsy bloke” Toni chose the “Reality Chick” for her teammate in the green team, whereby the moderator Grant Denyer and the blue team had to be satisfied with a “Hairy Dude”

When the team captains met the teammates they had chosen, Grant admitted that he hadn’t recognized Jack almost a decade after they first met on Australia’s Got Talent! All six team members put their heads together and finally made a campfire!

In the meantime, the last three celebrities met for the first time in the jungle. The “Reality Chick” in question was none other than “The Bachelor” star Abbie Chatfield! Comedian Ash Williams has been exposed as “Hairy Dude” and “Ballsy Bloke” is retired AFL player Travis Varcoe

In the Unhappy Hour Bar Challenge, these three celebrities had to wear helmets full of insects and spiders while they put their hands into a cage full of snakes to find keys and open multiple padlocks to escape, luckily for Jack and his green team, Abbie was the first to unlock her helmet and received a gold medal for their efforts! She also won her team a hot, freshly made and delivered meal of Thai Green Chicken Curry with Mango for dessert! Delicious!

The episode ended with the announcement that another celebrity would be going to the jungle tomorrow night who will it be? Will the Green Team thrive? Will Jack make it to the outback? Will he be king or queen of the jungle (or both)? Stay tuned to find out!
