CBS expects a large audience to tune in on Sunday night to see the network’s exclusive interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle The network charges advertisers a premium price of around 325$ 000 for 30 seconds of airtime during the program, according to ad buyers who spoke to the Wall Street Journal, which is roughly double what advertisers would typically pay CBS for a 30-second commercial during that time period

The great interest in the interview and the high costs for advertisers prompted CBS to extend the special to a full two hours
