The Phoenix Suns are now 8-1 out of their last nine games after beating the Eastern Conference leaders, the Philadelphia 76ers, 120-1111

Devin Booker played with 36 points for the resurgent suns, shot 14 of 23 out of the field and dropped 3 of 5 3 pointers

Booker was treated well by Ben Simmons of Philadelphia, who did another outstanding defensive job to limit the points of the sun star in its guarding

It was Danny Green who spent most of the time protecting Booker, who was in disastrous form in five games during Phoenix’s winning streak

During this time he has an average of 286 points and 56 assists when shooting 535 and 448 percent of the field, respectively deep

The Sixers were in control of the game when Green was with Chris Paul and Simmons with Booker, but Doc Rivers made the change and it failed

“Felt like a casual mistake that completely changed the course of the game,” wrote Kyle Nuebeck of Philly Voice

“River offensive MÖ is to keep going, which works until the other team stops, and they did the exact opposite in defense with the most important task of the game which is a little hard to figure out ”

Rivers has sometimes stopped Simmons from protecting the big names when he’s in bad trouble, but he hasn’t found a single one in the first half

But Booker was even able to assert some form of bragging rights against Simmons in the fourth quarter when he threw a 3-pointer over the Sixers star with a little more than four minutes

Simmons did everything he could, but it was only an elite effort on Booker to get the shot, and he had a few words for the man who guarded him afterwards as he ran to the back yard

Simmons had only claimed he was the best defender in the league on Saturday [AEDT], and although he was shown by Booker on that occasion, it was a rare mistake in an otherwise strong performance by him

He also had another strong game on offense with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists

Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 35 points, along with eight rebounds, while Tobias Harris had 18 points while going 7-of-9 off the floor

The Sixers only got 20 points from their bank, however, with Phoenix’s second unit scoring 49 points to break a 28-23 deficit in the first quarter

Booker was also well supported by Chris Paul (18 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds), while Dario Saric made an impression from the bench (15 points, four assists and four steals)
