Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews has confirmed the state will exit lockdown at midnight on Wednesday

Wednesday was the fifth day the Victorians went through a nationwide lockdown – ???? Circuit breaker ???? caused by the leakage of the contagious British COVID-19 strain

He said some restrictions would remain in place but most of the measures would be lifted at 11:59 a.m.

Crowds are allowed to return to the Australian Open on Thursday, but it remains unclear how many people will be allowed to enter Melbourne Park

Until then, up to 30000 fans in three different zones enter Melbourne Park

There are still 25 active cases in the state, but on a day when Victoria ran the largest number of tests ever, no new infections were found on-site or in hotel quarantine, more than 39000

The state government has introduced a fourth stage circuit breaker Blocking of Saturday for five days, which means that companies and schools have to close

Two locally acquired cases of coronavirus were registered on Tuesday, both of which are linked to the Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn quarantine hotel cluster

The two new local cases were close household contacts of a previously known case and were already self-isolating

Brett Sutton, chief health officer, said there were still thousands in the community who ended their isolation after exposure to potentially infectious people

Those who isolated had to remain vigilant even if they tested negative, as a portion of those infected with COVID-19 tested positive in the second week of their infection, he said

â ???? The incubation period is 14 days. There are literally thousands of people who have been exposed to potentially infectious cases. You need to find out their quarantine period, they don’t need to be complacent if they get a negative test early on because like I said, most people get symptomatic and do a positive test the first week, but there is a part that could still develop disease in the latter part of this quarantine period Professor Sutton said

He said health officials are also planning the fact that some people on the latest list of exposure sites may not be up to date

“There may be some people who have not yet checked out the exposure sites that have been exposed and are developing symptoms today [or] tomorrow,” Professor Sutton said

It’s the first time since Sept. February that no more new cases were registered in Victoria

The almost 40000 test results processed in the last 24 hours is a record since the pandemic started

The previous record was 4th January when it was 35059 were in 2020, most tests in a single day were on the 24th July when it was 34873 were

“The government’s sensible approach to restarting the return to office roadmap and getting 50 percent of Victorians back to office starting tomorrow is getting us back on the road to economic recovery”a ???? she said

Mr. Andrews indicated that additional support for businesses is on the way. Chrissie Maus, general manager of the Chapel Street District, said it couldn’t come soon enough and the lack of an announcement on it was a “missing piece of the puzzle”
