Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex Meghan is expected to widen the gap between the now U.S.-based couple and the royal family, the teasers of which were released prior to airing, confirm that Meghan bears part of the blame for the couple’s “Megxit” with her in-laws
Originally conceived as an attempt to showcase the couple’s side in a year of largely negative media coverage, fears are now growing that the interview could backfire and instead spark a feud that the “????” War of the Wales ???? on???? the very public argument between Harry’s parents in the 1990s pale in comparison
The Duke and Duchess resigned as working members of the royal family in January 2020 and moved to Montecito, California, where they effectively started a trading company to sign lucrative deals with Spotify, Netflix, Disney and the explosive television interview, Winfrey’s production company Harpo
Soundbites from the two-hour interview have been released to the media, including one in which Winfrey says to Meghan, “You said some pretty shocking things here”a ???? The interview was originally planned as a 90-minute television special, but was extended because Winfrey and the US broadcaster CBS thought the material was too long to be edited
In another clip, Winfrey asks Meghan about the expected consequences of Buckingham Palace “I don’t know how you can expect that after all this time we would still be silent if there was an active role representing” the company ” ??? plays in perpetuating falsehoods about us, ??? she replies
“If uttering comes with the risk of losing things, there is a lot that has already been lost”â ????
â ???? The Firmâ ???? is a term used to describe the administrative operations of the royal family, particularly the private secretaries, riders and officers who control the logistics and protocol. Harry’s mother Diana, Princess of Wales, once described them as the “men in.” Gray” Penny Junor’s 2005 book The Firm: The Troubled Life of the House of Windsor wrote Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, coining the term to
A major source of excitement between the feuding parties is the perception that the couple acted unilaterally and embarrassed the queen when they announced their resignation on social media The move forced a family reunion dubbed the Sandringham Summit in January 2020.After the meeting, the Queen issued a statement saying, “Very constructive discussions about the future of my grandson and his family” took place
Under the exit agreement, the couple will not be able to use Royal Highness style or perform duties on behalf of the Queen, but will have to repay the £ 2.4 million ($ 4 million) renovation cost of Frogmore Cottage and payment of a commercial rent, to keep it as a London home The cost of the couple’s safety has not been publicly clarified but is said to be partly funded by UK taxpayers and Harry’s father, Prince Charles
Harry was also forced to give up his military appointments, including the post of captain general of the Royal Marines. The couple also agreed to give up their royal patrons, although they retain private patrons such as Harry’s administration of the Invictus Games

Adding to the excitement is the perception that Harry and Meghan are commercializing the royal “brand” on???? in fact an attempt to privatize an essentially public entity Similar previous attempts such as Prince Edward’s production company Ardent and the staging of a royal “tournament” Edition of the TV show It’s a Knockout? were PR disasters
Last year, the Sussexes signed a contract with Netflix to develop “scripted and unscripted series, films, documentaries and children’s programming” and Spotify to produce and host a podcast Regardless, the Duchess signed a contract with Disney for over Language work
These deals followed an inept attempt to launch the Sussex Royal brand, which the couple had registered a trademark for certain items, including clothing and printed matter, however, the UK uses the word “royal” and representations of royal crowns have special protection under intellectual property law and the couple were forced to abandon it
Ahead of the interview, which aired in the US, Australia and the UK, the UK tabloids launched a preemptive strike in which many quoted an unnamed royal aide who re-voiced the Duchess of Sussex’s allegations while reporting on her time as a worker royal, bullied staff

??????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????? a statement from Buckingham Palace said staff involved at the time, including those who have left the household, will be invited to attend to see if lessons can be learned ???? The palace “tolerates and will not tolerate bullying or harassment in the workplace,” the statement said
Harry is expected to speak to Winfrey about his mother’s experiences with the British tabloids and how his fear that history would repeat itself was instrumental in his decision to leave both the royal family and Britain
“I can’t imagine what it must have been like when she went through this process on her own all those years ago” Harry tells Winfrey in an interview It was incredibly difficult for [Meghan], but at least we got togetherâ ??? ?
It expands on a topic he raised in another interview with TV presenter James Corden last week, “We all know what the British press can be like and it has ruined my sanity,” Harry said to Corden, who is a friend the couple is i thought this was toxic so i did what any husband and what any dad would doâ ????

The interview begins with Winfrey and Meghan alone, discussing their experiences joining the royal family, their treatment by the British media and the birth of the couple’s first child, Archie, in Part Two, Meghan is accompanied by Prince Harry to explore her future To discuss, including the impending birth of their second child, Winfrey said that “nothing was forbidden” in the interview
The bigger question is whether the interview will achieve what it is intended to do as a platform for the couple’s American brand launch, few better than an audience with Winfrey, America’s national confessor But as a chance the Tipping the already precarious PR compass in their favor, it could nonetheless turn out to be just as catastrophic misstep as the last one
