The BC. The government has announced that new COVID-19 restrictions will be rolled out across the province as cases continue to rise

Premier John Horgan alongside Dr Bonnie Henry and Health Secretary Adrian Dix announced that all indoor dine-in services, group fitness, indoor church services, and non-essential travel will be banned for three weeks as coronavirus cases rise

The new restrictions apply as of Monday, March 29th March at midnight and apply at least until Monday, March 19 April

“The number of cases rose unacceptably last week, even higher today than at the worst point of the second wave between November and January of this year,” said Premier Horgan during the live press conference

For restaurants this means that only take-out or delivery services may be offered in all rooms in which food and spirits are served.All food indoors is prohibited, with the exception of the seating on the outside terrace

Henry pointed out that she believes most restaurants have done a good job complying with current dine-in regulations, but says she sees transmission through these establishments as younger generations continue to run out and socialize

The provincial health officer also said that restaurant staff are finding it increasingly difficult to manage groups of people later in the evening, which she believes is also a factor in the decision

In gyms, all adult group fitness classes are suspended for three weeks. Fitness center or activities are limited to one-on-one or one-on-one training

“The contact tracing showed us that these attitudes increase the spread Therefore, indoor activities at these locations have to be interrupted for the time being, “said Dr Henry

The previously announced order deviation for limited indoor services is now also suspended as B. continues to set records for daily case numbers

“Rising case numbers, worrying variants, increased transmission and an increase in severe cases are major concerns,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, “BC. Public health officials are now making the tough decisions to break the chain and protect our communities ”
