Prime Minister François Legault has announced that Deputy Prime Minister Geneviève Guilbault will coordinate a new team to address the recent surge in violence against women in Quebec, noting the province following the murder of a 29-year-old woman in LaSalle last week saw seven femicides in seven weeks, not to mention an increase in reports of domestic violence during the pandemic

Guilbault replied, accepted the position and tagged the other members of the team: Isabelle Charest, Simon Jolin-Barrette, Lionel Carmant, Ian Lafrenière, Sylvain Levesque and Isabelle Lecours

“I humbly accept the mandate given to me by our Prime Minister Francois Legault. My colleagues and I will work together to protect women and their children”
