The York area opens COVID-19 vaccine appointments for residents ages 45 to 59 in five high priority communities ”

In a press release released Tuesday, officials said eligible residents will be able to book appointments from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday

“These high priority communities are geographic locations with high historical and sustained transmission, hospital and death rates,” the press release reads

Four of the parishes are in Vaughan and one in Markham is eligible residents who reside in the following postcode areas:

Vaccinations take place Thursday through Monday at the Maple Community Center in Vaughan and the Aaniin Community Center in Markham

Officials said that initially around 8000 dates will be available and additional slots will be opened as the supply increases
