A fire destroyed the rectory of a historic Long Branch church, injured a firefighter and displaced five residents on Easter Sunday

On the first floor of the Broadway facility – originally the first Reformed Church in Long Branch – flames broke out and spread to the second level, NJ, Auscom reports

The flame was turned off by neighbors around 18Reported at 25 o’clock and brings about 50 firefighters to the scene

The rectory was evacuated as firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading to the church next door, which dates back to 1867

Tour 4 was conducted tonight on a second alarm in the uptown part of town

In the plant are now the columns of Harvest Ministries Inc, a social service and religious organization
