He said, “The doctor was very clear that I would feel between five and 14 days under the weather and then either I would be better or I would have to go to the hospital

“Where, because I’m 60 years old and fat and because I smoked half a million cigarettes and had double pneumonia, I would probably die alone in a lonely plastic tent”

He described waking up drenched in sweat from a persistent dry cough and deciding to go into isolation

To aid his recovery, the star went to bed with “the new Don Winslow book and a bag of kale” and waited “for the Grim Reaper to stick his head out the door”

He added in his The Times column, “I’m not going to lie – it was pretty scary!”

The car enthusiast stated that he was isolated in a small house with his girlfriend Lisa Hogan (46) and their children

He continued: “With every illness I’ve had, there has always been the feeling that medicine and time would eventually lead to salvation, but with COVID-19 you have to lie there alone and knowing this medicine is not on that Way and this time is your worst enemy “

Addressing his concerns about the virus, Jeremy added, “We’re kept telling us we know a lot about COVID, but what I’ve learned over the past 10 days is: We don’t”
