French actor Gérard Depardieu has been officially investigated on allegations that he raped an actress in his home three years ago

His lawyer told the French news agency AFP that Mr Depardieu “completely denies [d]” the claim and that the investigation should not have been made public

Mr Depardieu, 73, is one of the most famous actors in the country, known for films such as Jean de Florette, Green Card and Cyrano
