During a live Facebook chat in September 2020, Schaffer expressed his distrust of the US government, stating that he was neither “a left nor a right guy” ”

“I’m American – this is my country, that’s where I live,” he said, “I don’t trust my government. I don’t shit if there’s an ‘R’ or a ‘D’ next to the person’s name I’m trying that Understanding the big picture I have read a lot and learned a lot. Other artists, including Tom Morello, Robb Flynn from Machine Head, Alex Skolnick from Testament, Mike Portnoy, Dino Cazares from Fear Factory and others, also spoke out against the mob’s actions
