The line, available exclusively for Iceland, includes Gregg’s legendary Vegan Sausage Roll and Vegan Steak Bake

From the 1st January online and from 2 Available in store on January 1st, the products cost £ 250 for a four-pack of rolls and two packs of baked goods – that is, a single sausage roll costs just 63 pence

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, a spokesman said, “Greggs Vegan Sausage Rolls (£ 2) launched with a lot of fanfare in 201950, 4pk) are here in frozen form

“It takes just 30 minutes to bake the delicious vegan sausage rolls in the oven before shoppers can turn their teeth into golden layers of crispy puff pastry and a delicious, bespoke Quorn filling

“Since they can be baked at any time of the day or night, the rolls are a convenient treat for the whole family”

“These delicious vegan-friendly snacks are made from hearty quorn and diced onions in a rich sauce, all of which are wrapped in a light and crispy puff pastry”

Island already offers a number of vegan private label options, including the now legendary No Bull Burger, which launched in April 2018 and resold the store’s Wagyu beef burger

Following the success of patty making, Iceland expanded its plant-based offering and announced a range of new products in October 2018

Icelandic chef Neil Nugent told The Guardian about the new products: “We have had tremendous success with the No Bull Burger and it’s clear that our customers want more from us

“In developing this range, we took into account the country’s love for alternative plant-based foods in an innovative and exciting way

“The UK vegan food market has grown rapidly 56 percent of adults say they are vegan when running their supermarket business ”
