The New Jersey Devils are finally back from their COVID-19 hiatus with up to 19 players on the log list, which resulted in more than a two-week hiatus from the schedule on Tuesday they finally played a game against the New York Rangers You won the match with a final score of 5-2. If you beat your arch rivals on your return to the game, this is the best way to get the momentum going into the rest of the season, you have to play a lot of games in a short amount of time now, so this was it a good start

When you think of the Devils List, some of the stars come to mind like Jack Hughes, Kyle Palmieri and Nico Hischier, but there are also some really good downsides The Devils have a lot of hope for Janne Kuokkanen and he delivered in this als when he got into that game he had one goal and two assists for three points. He doubled his season score in that game when he scored three assists to help the Devils win

Kuokkanen backed goals from Pavel Zacha, Will Butcher and Nick Merkley If he can be a highly skilled bottom six winger for them for a long time, he will prove to be a big find

Sami Vatanen will be back in the next few days and he was the one they sent to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Kuokkanen It looks like a really good deal for New Jersey as they have both of them back on the line up soon We don’t know what the future of Vatanen will be this year, but Kuokkanen looks like a big piece for the future puzzle. You even got a selection for the 3rd Round that turned into Nico Daws as a sweetener

We can talk a lot about Kuokkanen, what we want, but you can talk about this Devils / Rangers propensity without at least mentioning Mackenzie Blackwood, who was the first Devils player to hit the COVID-19 protocol list, and this was his first game back.He made 37 saves on 39 shots in the competition. The Devils played well a lot before him, but he saved them when they were stuck on their own end at times throughout the game

If the Devils are to be a playoff team this year they need all of these people to keep going, adding Nico Hischier and Sami Vatanen back to the mix should really help them and their depth, the fact that they are without some of these Guys winning is amazing when they are completely healthy and ready to go, no one should be thrilled to play that team on Kuokkanen and the Devils are back on the field Thursday night as they face the Boston Bruins at the TD Garden
