BRADENTON, Fla – News of Tiger Woods who was in a car accident on Tuesday quickly spread across the Concession Golf Club as players prepared for the World Cup of Golf Championships and Labor Day

“I have a stomach problem,” said an emotional Justin Thomas with tears in his eyes during a videoconference with reporters “You know, it hurts to see one of you, now one of my closest friends, having an accident man, i just hope he’s okay just worry about his kids you know? I am sure they are fighting ”

Woods, 45, was rushed to a hospital with multiple leg injuries by ambulance and operated on Tuesday afternoon, his agent Mark Steinberg said in a statement that LA County Sheriff’s Department said police responded to a “traffic accident” around 7:12 am local time on Hawthorne Boulevard in Rancho Palos Verdes. The sheriff’s department later confirmed the injuries were not life threatening

Woods is recovering from his fifth back surgery, a microdiscectomy procedure 23 that removed disc fragments that caused nerve damage, was in California as a tournament organizer for the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades on Sunday he told CBS ‘Jim Nantz that he would be doing an MRI soon, which would determine his next steps in recovery when he got the results
Woods started a two-day content shoot for Golf Digest on Monday and GolfTV at Rolling Hills Country Club Woods gave classes to a number of celebrities, including David Spade and former NBA star Dwayne Wade Woods but didn’t show up for the Tuesday shoot / p>

“I’m shocked and sad to hear from Tiger,” USA Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker told Golfweek, “I hope and pray he’s okay”

Bryson DeChambeau was playing a practice round at The Concession when he saw the news on Instagram, he quickly phoned members of the Woods team

“Obviously a little shocked,” DeChambeau said. “You don’t expect something like this to happen. But from everything I know about Tiger, I’m sure he will recover and he will do everything in his power to to come back I am sure he will

“He’s an amazing person who has done incredible things I have no doubt that he will be back I’m sure it will take him a little longer, but from my point of view he’s one of the most impressive people that I have ever met and I think he will come back fine ”

“He’s our hero out here,” Scott said. “You think people like Tiger and Kobe Bryant are sacrosanct, but they’re not I just hope he’s fine”

“Very hard at the moment,” said Horschel. “We have sent (Steinberg) texts in which we pray for him. It’s difficult. He’s a friend of mine. We don’t know everything, but we have heard that the injuries don’t are life threatening We pray that he is okay ”

“As if his body couldn’t take enough,” Rahm said. “I’m just hoping for a bad situation, the best possible result, and I hope he can recover from it and we can see him on the golf course as early as possible I know he had surgery earlier this year, so I hope he didn’t damage anything he’s already done

“I just hope that after his recovery he can leave the hospital and still play with his children and lead a normal life”
