Although the country is under lockdown, the reality TV series is slated to air in 2021, ITV confirmed last week

Filmed under coronavirus safety protocols, it will be presented again by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield of This Morning

The jury remains unchanged compared to the previous year Former professional skaters Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, who have appeared on the show since their first appearance in 2006, are joined by Ashley Banjo and John Barrowman from Diversity

But who are the participants who train hard before hitting the ice? Read on to find out

First up, we have ex-Olympic skier Graham Bell ahead of his celebrities when it comes to ice experience

The 55-year-old competed for Great Britain with his brother Martin in the 1980s and 1990s and represented Great Britain at five Winter Olympics. He eventually retired in 1998 when he became a commentator on skiing

In recent years, Bell has focused on more general sports commentary, presenting coverage of the Triathlon World Championship for the BBC and the Tour de France for ITV

Despite his winter sports background, Bell insists that he is just as scared of attending Dancing on Ice as the rest of the contestants

“My biggest fear is to dance in front of millions of people,” he said, “I’m not afraid of ice cream I’m used to ice-cream, but to dance, to dance right Not just the kind of thing you do with ski boots on Table has been drinking – that doesn’t dance I’ve skated before, but that’s only a third of that ”

Coronation Street fans will likely recognize Faye Brookes as Kate Connor, a role she played from 2015 to 2019

The Manchester-born actress won a National Television Award for her time at Corrie, but is not only known for her work on the big screen

In fact, 33-year-old Brookes trained in music theater at drama school and has appeared in stage productions of Grease, Shrek the Musical and Legal Blonde

“My mom screamed when I told her and I said, ‘You’re more excited than when I got a job in the West End,” said Brooks of her Dancing on Ice debut

“I’m in to win, I’m not competing for it, I’m in because I want to absorb everything, learn this incredible new skill and not waste it”

Jason Donovan is a household name who became famous alongside his collaborator Kylie Minogue for “Special for You” on Australian Soap Neighbors

During his music career he sold three million records in the UK and had four number one singles

Like Brookes, Donovan has a history in musical theater after playing the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the West End in 1991.In 2019, he returned to production to play Pharaoh in the Revival against newcomer Jac Yarrow

When asked if he was going to put on extravagant costumes for Dancing on Ice, the 52-year-old said, “Look, I played Priscilla Queen of The Desert on stage for two years, I was on the Rocky Horror Show Me wore a coat in many colors! This is positively weakened I feel more than comfortable with fantastic costumes ”

Rufus Hound is no stranger to dancing after winning the 2013 Strictly Christmas Special and performing a memorable performance as Cheryl Cole during Let’s Dance for Sport Relief in 2010

However, ice skating is a whole different story for the actor and comedian best known for appearing on panel shows like Celebrity Juice and his stage work with the Royal Shakespeare Company

Hound has admitted that his time at Dancing on Ice is largely financial after the coronavirus pandemic ended theater and comedy circles

“I wouldn’t have made this show for love or money if the whole world hadn’t stopped and all I do to make a living didn’t exist,” he said

“I’m doing the show for money because I couldn’t make any money and I have a mortgage and a family. That doesn’t mean I’m not looking forward to it and it doesn’t mean I don’t want it to go well”

Colin Jackson CBE, a sprint and hurdler, has held the world record in 110m hurdles for over a decade and is still the world record holder in 60m hurdles

Jackson performed at a one-time Special Dancing on Ice Goes Gold and is returning for “unfinished business”

“On this show we had very limited time on the ice trying to learn a real skill,” he said. “When you do the actual show, you have a lot more time to refine something and something to learn right and deeper. It feels really brand new, brand new partner and all, so I’m excited ”

A man of many talents, Sonny Jay, 27, first rose to fame in 2012 as a member of British Got Talent band The Loveable Rogues

However, he is currently probably best known for his radio presentation work, which he hosted at Phoenix FM from 2015 to 2017 before moving to Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp and Sian Welby

Being a breakfast radio host definitely has its problems Jay admits, “Because I get up at a quarter past four every day, I’m consistently tired every day. As much as I look forward to the challenge of ice skating every day, I know it’s going to be a daunting task because I do every Do a show tomorrow

“It’s high energy When it’s done you hit some kind of low. I have to catch up, get that energy up to go to workout so I have to make sure I’m not too tired. I don’t want to be one of those people ”

Former Hear’Say singer Myleene Klass first performed with pop stars in 2001, but found her voice as a solo singer who specializes in classical crossover music

“I am a mother of three, a stepmother of two There are seven of us in our mixed family. When else would a mother like me get the chance to learn a new skill, ”she said of her Dancing on Ice trip

“I spent all of this time teaching kids and teaching my music classes that went viral Now it’s time for me to learn a new skill and walk away from J-Lo with a bum like J-Lo’s! “That’s the real reason I’m here! I’ll work so hard!”

At only 18 years old, Joe-Warren Plant is the youngest competitor at this year’s Dancing on Ice

Fortunately, the Blackpool actor is used to the limelight from a young age, having played the role of Jacob Gallagher in Emmerdale since 2010

But after spending more than half his life portraying the same character, Plant says he’s excited about the new opportunities Dancing on Ice will bring him

“I’ve been doing Emmerdale for so long and never really done anything else,” he said. “I started there when I was eight and have been there for ten years now So it’s exciting to try something new ”

I’ve never faced such a personal challenge, so I feel like at this point in my career it’s good for me to be involved and all to do something

Denise Van Outen can only do very little

from musical theater to presentation and voice-over work

She is perhaps best known for starring The Big Breakfast from 1997 to 2001 before appearing as Roxie Hart in the West End and Broadway Chicago productions

In addition to presenting, Van Outen has appeared on a number of reality TV series that were exposed as Fox on The Masked Singer UK last year

Does she think she can do well dancing on ice? “I never get into anything and think I’ll win it, but when the game and the competition increases you get competitive, there is nothing you can do about it,” she said

“I just want to learn to skate, do my best and hope I can win it. It’s more for myself to prove and enjoy it and learn to do some of the tricks I’ve watched other people do”

Last on the lineup is … Rebekah Vardy Vardy is married to Leicester City soccer player Jamie and is a model who previously appeared on I’m a Celebrity

However, she is best known for her role in the “Wagatha Christie” scandal after Coleen Rooney accused her of reporting stories about her to the press

Vardy asked her for her greatest strength to get her into the ice and explained: “I’m not giving up and that’s really my mantra – live by the blade, die by the blade, I would say!” p>
