The comedian and actor will host the ITV breakfast show between Monday and Wednesday this month

Adil Ray will co-host Good Morning Britain for the rest of April after Piers Morgan leaves the show This has been confirmed

The comedian and actor will be hosting the ITV breakfast show between Monday and Wednesday this month

Ray, 46, has been a regular host of the show over the summer vacation and halftime season since 2019, and presents episodes twice a week as part of the show’s pandemic coverage last summer

He created and appeared on the BBC One comedy Citizen Khan and recently hosted a revival of the 1980s game show Lingo for ITV

“I’ll be hosting Good Morning Britain for the whole of April, Monday through Wednesday, starting this Monday with Kate Garraway and with Susanna Reid after the holidays,” wrote Ray on Twitter

“I would love if you make it your daily wake up when you feel like it!”

It comes after Piers Morgan quit ITV last month after claims the Duchess of Sussex officially complained about him to the broadcaster
Morgan had stormed off the set of the show during its final episode after an argument with weatherman Alex Beresford over his comments on the Duchess’s mental health

More than 41000 viewers had complained about Morgan’s comments after the Duchess’s interview with Oprah Winfrey at Ofcom, while over 196000 people have since signed petitions to reinstate him

Kevin Lygo, ITV television director, said the network “cannot replace” Morgan and therefore the show will “mix and match” its current presentation talent until a permanent replacement is found
