Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made some transfer recommendations to Tottenham striker Harry Kane based on Manchester United’s interest in the striker

Kane has excelled in the Premier League this season, topping the charts for both goals (17) and assists (13)

Spurs haven’t won a trophy since the 2008 League Cup, but Wenger doesn’t necessarily endorse the theory that Kane has to leave the club to get their hands on silverware

“Tottenham are in a position to be ambitious and maybe we shouldn’t just judge the situation today,” Wenger told beIN SPORTS Top of the league when I was with Arsenal

“He is the only one who can assess the situation. Such a player is always asked by other clubs and always has to assess his situation

“He has been a real front runner at Tottenham so far. He is a front runner in the English national team. I respect his commitment and quality very much

“What I like today is that he can basically play as no10 because the quality of his assists and the speed of his vision and execution of his speed on long balls is exceptional”

The MEN know Spurs are confident of keeping Kane beyond this summer’s transfer window and will not consider referring England to any other Premier League club
