Mike Tindall’s company, who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter, appears on a list of employers who have applied for vacation pay
The former England rugby star, married to the Queen’s granddaughter, Olympic equestrian Zara Tindall, is the director of Kimble Trading Ltd
In the reports submitted in December for the December 31 Fiscal year ending March 2020, it is said that since the balance sheet date, the Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent restrictions have resulted in a number of events being canceled in 2020
According to the accounts, the company has “used all available state aid to support the company and its employees during the crisis”
As first reported by The Sun newspaper, Kimble Trading Ltd appears on a government-published list of employers filing claims under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
It is not known who received the vacation pay at Kimble Trading Ltd, but it is believed that none of it went to Tindall and there is no evidence of illegality
Tindall, who is expecting his third child with Zara, announced earlier this year that he was worried about money
In an interview with The Times, Tindall, who retired from professional rugby in 2014 and whose speech and dinner income was hit by the pandemic, said “You always worry about money”
He described himself as very happy knowing he had received money from ambassadorial roles, but said, “Sponsorships won’t last forever
“You have to plan, and now, with a third one on the way and what’s at stake in terms of school bills, fees have to be paid,” he said
Tindall, 42, laughed at suggestions he and Zara pioneered for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who are now making their own money
He described being part of the royal family but having to work as “something you just get used to”
He added, “It has its advantages and disadvantages. You think about what you are doing, and you need to be aware of it, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be dictating”
Zara makes money off of sponsorships and other endeavors, while Tindall is currently hosting a podcast with – The Good, The Bad And The Rugby
He has also made television appearances, including participating in The Jump and Bear Grylls: Mission Survive
The couple, who already have two daughters – Mia, seven, and two-year-old Lena – live on Princess Royal’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, as does Anne and Zara’s brother Peter Phillips and his family – and work together on a farm in a bubble while locking
