Tyson Fury insists that an announcement of the Anthony Joshua fight is NOT imminent, but his UK co-promoter Frank Warren has told talkSPORT otherwise

Fury and Joshua’s camps have been in talks for months over an undisputed showdown in the British heavyweight division this summer
However, Fury has poured water on suggestions that the fight is about to be officially confirmed

“Let’s sum it up Eddie Hearn is a boxing promoter Bob Arum also It’s their job to sell a fight,” he told iFL TV

“Joshua says what he says, I’m not on social media at all right now. Whatever they say is very unimportant to me

“Until I have a fight, a date, and a hell of a lot of money in my pocket, there is no fight”There are a lot of things that the people behind the scenes don’t know about that can prevent such a fight

“So nothing’s really on until you’re in the ring. So yeah, we’re not that far off at the moment”

He added, “Will I be fighting Joshua in the next ten minutes? No do I think the fight will take place someday? Yes, it has to happen

“Do I think it’s next or imminent? No, I’m not going to hold my breath for this, that’s for sure

“I’m not going to put all my eggs in one basket because I was guilty before If the fight doesn’t take place, I’ll get into a massive depression and want to kill myself”

Fury has not fought to claim the WBC belt since the fall of Deontay Wilder over a year ago

He had insisted he wasn’t interested in facing the American for the third time, but has now turned around and said Wilder could be his next opponent

“I have two fights this year and I don’t give a shit if they’re with Joe Bloggs, Fred Flintstone, Mike Tyson or anyone I just want to fight this year,” he said

“Next, don’t write Wilder out of the equation, I could still fight the trilogy with him

Fury also claimed in his interview with IFL that he currently drinks up to 12 pints a day

“I’ve stopped training at the moment, I’m on vacation. At the moment I drink between eight, ten and twelve liters of lager a day,” claimed Fury

“I trained and trained and trained with no progress, so now I’m a recreational man”

He also insisted that he will NEVER fight in the UK again, stating, “The world boxing superstar will no longer box in small halls. My new home is in Las Vegas

Despite Fury’s claims, a fight with Joshua – the biggest in British boxing history – is expected to happen in 2021

Frank Warren – the promoter of Fury – joined talkSPORT on Thursday and insisted that the AJ fight continue despite admitting his fighter was “peed off”

«

“But what I can say is that everything is agreed, it’s an upcoming announcement and we have to work on a site and that’s it

“It’s absolutely moving in the right direction and everyone is on the same page. Nobody is more frustrated than the fighters and us We worked like you can’t believe it to get this across the line

“I think Tyson is a little upset because it keeps dragging on Hopefully everyone will get the good news soon, they will be happy and everyone can move on to the next level more of it, which is sorting this page

“We hope it doesn’t happen later We’re working hard to get it done sooner rather than later”

“The contracts have been agreed and are 100 percent signed I’m sure of it at the end of the week? I hope so! “
