VALDOSTA, Ga (WALB) – The Lowndes County sheriff’s office has reopened the Kendrick Johnson case, according to Sheriff Ashley Paulk

Since then, the Johnson family has filed multiple lawsuits, and Johnson’s body has been exhumed multiple times as the family struggled to have his death investigated as murder

Paulk told WALB News 10 that his office had received 17 boxes of documents, computer towers, and hard drives containing information gathered from previous investigations by other agencies into Johnson’s death

Now they are working on comparing these notes with new information Paulk said the sheriff’s office received them and is looking for disagreements

Paulk said it will take time to go through all of the documents and that there is currently no timeline for the results

The sheriff said that according to the department’s guidelines, no public announcements or updates will be released on the case until it closes again
